Meet the Help Center Team

Stephanie Barton, Help Center Manager

As a former Project Manager for BCBS of NC, Stephanie brings to the SSC project management experience as well as an extensive Customer Service Management background.  She attended Mary Baldwin College where she studied Psychology.  Stephanie has two sons that like to keep her busy, but in her spare time she enjoys shopping, traveling, and sports.


Jessica Matheny

Jessica has worked in the Customer Service Field for 13+ years and worked at VDOT for 6 years prior to the SSC.  She graduated from the Leadership Development Program (LDTP) while working for VDOT.  Jessica has one daughter and she enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and couponing.  She thrives on helping others to succeed and seeing their growth.


Marianne Repko

Marianne is a Roanoke native, she worked at VWCC in the Financial Aid Office and VDOT prior to joining the SSC.  She has one amazing son and enjoys the beach, hiking, camping, movies, volunteering in the community and church activities.  Marianne really enjoys working in Customer Service and being able to help solve problems.


Paul Grim

Paul loves fishing, cutting down trees with a chainsaw and playing with his granddaughter! He was in cars sales and car sales management for 16 years prior to working at VDOT, where he helped get their Customer Service Center started.  Paul has been married for 27 years and has 2 children that are both college graduates and he’s thrilled that they both have jobs!


Deena Corron

Deena has been working for the Virginia Community College System for more than 12 years.  She began while she was a student at NOVA, and continued after transferring to and graduating from the University of Mary Washington.  She and her husband recently traded the hectic life of Northern Virginia for a country home outside of Roanoke where Deena loves to garden and photograph the wildlife.


Whitney Pleasant

Whitney is originally from Covington, VA but has resided in Roanoke for the past several years.  She is a trained Dental Assistant but also has multiple years of call center experience to leverage.  Whitney enjoys traveling, shopping, dancing and playing Nancy Drew games in her free time.


Athena Galvan

Athena is originally from a small town in Southwest Virginia, but moved to the Roanoke area about 7 years ago.  She has 20+ years of customer service experience with half of those in leadership.  Athena has four children and loves reading, gardening and being a Nana to her grandson!


Eric Mills

Eric is a Roanoke native as you can tell by his VT Hokie pride! He has 10+ years of customer service, sales, and technical support experience with Verizon Telecom.  Eric is married and has a son and a daughter that he loves family time with.  In addition to being a Hokies fan, Eric also pulls for the Wizards and the Orioles!
