Stephanie Barton – Help Center Manager
As a former Project Manager for BCBS of NC, Stephanie brings to the SSC project management experience as well as an extensive Customer Service Management background. She attended Mary Baldwin College where she studied Psychology. Stephanie has two sons that like to keep her busy, but in her spare time she enjoys shopping, traveling, and sports.
Marianne is a Roanoke native, she worked at VWCC in the Financial Aid Office and VDOT prior to joining the SSC. She has one amazing son and enjoys the beach, hiking, camping, movies, volunteering in the community and church activities. Marianne really enjoys working in Customer Service and being able to help solve problems.
Deena has been working for the Virginia Community College System for more than 12 years. She began while she was a student at NOVA, and continued after transferring to and graduating from the University of Mary Washington. She and her husband recently traded the hectic life of Northern Virginia for a country home outside of Roanoke where Deena loves to garden and photograph the wildlife.
Athena is originally from a small town in Southwest Virginia, but moved to the Roanoke area about 7 years ago. She has 20+ years of customer service experience with half of those in leadership. Athena has four children and loves reading, gardening and being a Nana to her grandson!
Alana began her career at the SSC as an intern in the Help Center. She has now happily joined the HC team permanently as an agent! She is committed to learning and helping others. Alana is a student at Virginia Western Community College and is working toward her academic goals. In her free time she loves walking her two dogs Bocephus and Leroy.
As a Botetourt County native Whitney came to the SSC from Western Virginia Water Authority. She has over 10 years of Customer Service experience and an English degree from Hollins University. Whitney enjoys spending her free time with her hairless Chinese Crested, binge watching Netflix, and has an affinity for Chipotle.
James “Jim” Ingold
Jim moved to Roanoke 10 years ago from Ohio. He has over 15 years’ experience in management and customer service. Jim came to the SSC from the Virginia Department of Social Services, Piedmont Regional Office as the Regional Executive Assistant. He enjoys camping, hiking working on his house and spending time with his dog. Jim really enjoys taking on new challenges and broadening his knowledge base in various programs.
Heather is a Roanoke Native. She worked at Advance Auto Parts Corporate prior to joining the SSC. Heather enjoys working in Customer Service and helping people solve problems, and she brings an extensive Customer Service background with her to the Help Center Team. She has one son and enjoys her family, beach vacation, gardening and outdoor activities.
Tonya graduated from DSLCC with an Associate’s in Business Management and then from Liberty with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She was born and raised in Rockbridge County where she still lives today with her husband, daughters, step son and a Blue Heeler that they consider their 4th child. Tonya brings over 20 years of customer service experience to the Help Center.
Rebecca is a Roanoke Valley native. She came to the SCC from the Western Virginia Water Authority. Rebecca has over 7 years of Customer Service experience and enjoys helping people solve their problems. Rebecca has one awesome son and spends her free time reading, and watching Netflix.
