During the recent SSC HR/Payroll Operations Forum held on October 9, 2025, it was decided that to facilitate the resolution of historical exceptions in the HCM system, the SSC TLAM team will begin posting the VX_TL_OUTSTANDING_EXCPTNS_ALL query on a quarterly basis and will include all outstanding exceptions from the previous year (for example: 9/25/2024-9/24/2025; 12/25/2024-12/24/2025; 3/25/2024-3/24/2025; etc.).

We have added the latest results for 9/25/2024-9/24/2025 to each college folder on the VCCS SharePoint website.  

Please note: Most exceptions presented in the query are permissible and will not impact the employees’ pay; however, it is necessary for the college Time Administrator to validate these exceptions before clearing them.

If the exception remains, it can be allowed by navigating to Manager Home > Time and Absence Approvals > Exceptions. 

Exception reasons that are not permissible are highlighted in the attached document and will require additional action to resolve.

Examples of how to clear the exceptions:

  • Reported Hours < Scheduled Hrs = ensure the employee has completed the timesheet, click “allow” for the exception.
  • Qty cannot be zero = remove all zeros from each timesheet. You may need to go back several pay periods.

It is recommended that managers review and address their exceptions by the end of each pay period. Please refer to the attached exceptions reference document from the Managers’ HCM User Guide for guidance in resolving any outstanding exceptions.
