Dear Colleges,

Welcome to the New Monthly Procurement Snapshot! 

How can this benefit you? The objective of this communication is to provide you with updates to our (VCCS) solicitations and contracts activities. By keeping you apprised of these activities, you may find quicker options for meeting a procurement need you have now or in the future. In addition, our intent is to help Colleges help other Colleges — if you have a need that has not yet been met, other Colleges may have a similar need. By working together, and with our collective purchasing power, we can likely negotiate better terms.

Our Snapshot communications will include three sections:

  1. Significant Contracts Initiated – A selection of NEW contracts that you may find useful
  2. Current Assignments – Solicitations that have been newly assigned so you may reach out to the listed Contract Officer if you have related questions
  3. Queued Solicitations – A selection of upcoming solicitations that may impact your sub-agency. Although these solicitations have not started, please reach out to the SSC if your sub-agency wants to be included in the solicitation process

 In June, nine (9) new solicitations commenced. While most of these were for specific College needs, the following are intended to be available to all Colleges upon completion:

Queued Solicitations:
A selection of upcoming solicitations that may impact your sub-agency. Although these solicitations have not started, reach out to the SSC if your sub-agency wants to be included in the solicitation process.

 The Queued Solicitations list is part of the broader Procurement Intake Process, which serves as the strategic entry point for initiating solicitations.

We track our upcoming opportunities in a ‘place holder’ like listing for the following:

  • Expiring contracts that need to be resolicited
  • New procurement needs awaiting assignment
  • Initiatives or Projects pending resource availability

The following opportunities intended to be available to all Colleges are planned to commence in the coming months:

Reminder: If you have identified a new procurement need that may require a complex solicitation (typically over $100,000), please complete a Strategic Sourcing Request Form. Once reviewed by the procurement team, the request will be added to the Queued Solicitations list—provided there is no active solicitation or existing cooperative opportunity that meets the need.

The *Procurement Intake procedure is available to you in the SSC Content Library for reference.
