Date: May 6, 2022
Due to a recent E-ZPass Policy violation notification from the Department of Accounts (DoA), we want to ensure everyone is aware of and following the E-ZPass policy (CAPP Manual Topic No. 20355).
Please review the following excerpt to determine if changes to your E-ZPass Policy and management are required for your future electronic toll payment needs.
There are two ways E-ZPass can be purchased. For further guidance, go to https://ezpassva.com.
- Pay by Plate -For more information, please visit https://www.driveert.com/tollinfo/pay-by-plate/.
- E-ZPass - Each agency is allowed only one corporate account unless an exception is granted by CCA. E-ZPasses are for state vehicles only. An Exception Request is required with the number of transponders, amount of replenishment (not to exceed $35.00 per transponder), number of vehicles on account, and disclosure of state vehicle only or agency-owned vehicle.
All agencies seeking to utilize E-ZPass must submit an Annual Exception. These exceptions are approved on a case-by-case basis.
