Reason: Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2023

The Virginia minimum wage is scheduled to be increased to $12.00 effective January 1, 2023, as approved by the General Assembly. Although there was a proposed bill in 2021 to delay the change, it did not pass.
Below is the current language in the Code of Virginia related to the scheduled increases through 2026:

Wage and Salaried employees under $12/hour or $24,960 will be eligible for the increase.
We understand that some colleges would prefer to extend eligibility to other pay groups as well so we ask that colleges using the SSC Hire to Retire services run the V_HR_JOB_QUERY in Cardinal, determine the entire population you wish to include, and upload the approved query to your college folder on the VCCS SharePoint site here: Shared Services College Folder by noon on Friday, December 16, 2022.
